Liz McGuire, a Toronto Blue Jays fan, is finally getting her own Topps card after a traumatic experience. In an email to the Blue Jays on Sunday, McGuire disclosed that Bo Bichette’s 110 mph foul ball had smacked her in the face. Not only that, but she never actually got the ball.
Topps made 110 copies of the card in response to the circumstance, and he intends to give them all to her: In Sunday’s American League East game, Toronto defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 5-2, so McGuire at least got to witness a Blue Jays triumph. Daniel Vogelbach went 3-for-4 with a home run, double, three runs, and one RBI while Bichette was hitless.
The Blue Jays’ three-game losing streak was ended with the victory, and they used that energy to defeat the Chicago White Sox on Monday. After the last two games, they appear to be headed in the right direction even if they are still in last position at 21–25. Additionally, one of their admirers now has a really nice memento.
