September 6, 2024, is the premiere date for Lover of Men: The Untold History of Abraham Lincoln in AMC Theaters. It will also be shown in a few other theaters in markets where AMC is not available.
Abraham Lincoln, the most important president in American history, is examined in Lover of Men in his personal life. The documentary explores Lincoln’s love relationships with men through the words of famous Lincoln scholars, as well as never-before-seen photos and letters. Lover of Men emphasizes the significant distinctions between the sexual mores of the nineteenth century and those of the present, while also broadening our perspective on the history of human sexual mobility. In addition to completing a significant gap in American history, the movie asks viewers to reflect on the reasons behind our narrow understanding of human sexuality. In addition to examining sexual identity and gender norms, Lover of Men also looks at intolerance in America.
