Giants QB announce his departure from the club after accusing Giants GM of…..

With the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Giants might have moved on from quarterback Daniel Jones, who has been with the team for seven years.

Rather than pass on Jones, who has performed poorly since entering the NFL as the sixth overall choice in 2019, New York chose to select wide receiver Malik Nabers.

However, general manager Joe Schoen stated that Jones still has a lot to show this season in the opening segment of “Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants”.

Schoen reportedly stated, “You’re paying the guy $40 million,” according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “It’s not to hand the ball off to a $12 million back.
After Jones ran for 708 yards and seven touchdowns, passed for 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns, and just five interceptions, and helped his club win a postseason game in 2022, the Giants offered him a four-year, $160 million contract last offseason.

Jones tore his ACL in Week 8, ending his 2023 campaign. According to Schoen, the objective has always been to give him more time to establish himself as the starting quarterback for New York.

“This year is Daniel’s,” Schoen continued. All along, the idea was to give him a few years. For the next ten years, is he our man? Or should we change course and look for someone else?”

Jones appears to have every chance to present his case as long as he is healthy, which all indications indicate he will be following an offseason spent recovering from his injuries.
