With the New York Giants, veteran NFL wide receiver Allen Robinson has found a new lease on life.
In an attempt to save money, the Pittsburgh Steelers brutally terminated Robinson, 30, lately.
2015 was Robinson’s greatest season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Giants, who want to bolster their offensive line, have signed him to a one-year contract.
The Giants boast a number of wide receivers, including Isaiah McKenzie, Isaiah Hodgins, Wan’Dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, and Darius Slayton.
In the NFL Draft, New York also selected LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick.
Robinson has just finished a dismal season with the Steelers.
For the Steelers in 2023, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound player started all 17 games and recorded 34 receptions for 280 yards, but no touchdowns.
Robinson was a player for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, and Los Angeles Rams before joining the Steelers.
He recorded 80 receptions for 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Jaguars in 2015, which was his greatest season.
The former Penn State standout was selected for his only Pro Bowl that year.
Throughout his career, Robinson has made nearly $95 million.
The Giants made the trade in order to add another quarterback to their roster.
On Tuesday, the New England Patriots placed Nathan Rourke on waivers, and the Giants claimed him.
After playing a season in the Canadian Football League, Rourke really tested out for the Giants in 2021’s rookie minicamp as a wide receiver.
Despite going undrafted out of Ohio University in 2021, he succeeded in the CFL and eventually gained entry into the NFL.
During his three years at Ohio, Rourke completed 7,457 yards of passing with 60 touchdowns and just 20 interceptions.
With a single-season completion percentage of 78.7 percent on his passes in 2022, the quarterback holds the record for the CFL.
Despite missing eight games, he still managed to throw 25 touchdowns and win the title of Most Outstanding Canadian that season.
During his tenure in the CFL, he had 12 starts, completed 4,103 yards of passing, and threw 28 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
Prior to joining the Patriots later in the season, Rourke was a member of the Jaguars practice squad last season.
After the team selected Joe Milton in the sixth round and Drake Maye with the third overall pick, the 25-year-old quarterback was the fifth player of his position on the New England roster.
Bailey Zappe and Jacoby Brissett were among players the Patriots had to contend with.
Right now, Rourke, Drew Lock, Tommy DeVito, and Daniel Jones make up the Giants quarterback room.
